Title:
BN #987
Description:
BN NW5 #987, still in GN paint in Interbay (Balmer) Yard in Seattle, in September 1973. The #987 was built in December 1946 as GN #187. The #987 was retired in April 1982 and sold in July 1982 to Pacific Transportation Services, then resold to REPCO (Replinger?) and stored in Mineral, WA, then acquired by the East Portland Traction Co. as #187. EPTC's line and operations were acquired by the Oregon Pacific RR, and in more recent times the #187 was stored at the former Gold Junction, which is located along the southern border of the Sellwood neighbourhood of Portland, OR. Scanned with an Epson V550 from an original Kodachrome 35mm slide. Date is approximate. Photographer is unknown.
