Title:
BO 2-8-8-4 #7612 - Baltimore & Ohio
Description:
Long before an SD40-2 unit wore the number B&O #7612, this massive 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone type steam locomotive had the honor to wear the number. Built by Baldwin in 1944 as BO 7612 (serial #70074), it was much later renumbered BO 662 to make room for the diesels joining the roster. The massive loco met the scrapper's torch in 1958. No date, loctation or photographer was listed for the photo.
